Tesla’s Market Share Declines as E.V. Options Rise

The Chevrolet Bolt saw a sharp increase from 0.1% in new car registrations to 9.7% in the same period in 2023. General Motors surpassed Ford in electric vehicle sales in the first quarter, taking second place in U.S. E.V. sales behind Tesla. G.M.’s Chevrolet Bolt models, which start under $30,000, led its E.V. sales. 

Walmart to Add 1,300 EV Charging Stations to Stores by 2030

Walmart plans to add nearly 1,300 electric vehicle charging stations to its stores by 2030 that it will own and operate. The company hopes to provide “easy access to on-the-go charging” to consumers who have been reluctant to purchase E.V.s over “concerns they won’t be able to find a charger in a clean, bright, and safe location when needed.”

  • Professional & business services: 39,000

  • Healthcare: 34,000

Retail lost 15,000 jobs. The unemployment rate was 3.5%, and hourly earnings rose 0.3 percent. Initial jobless claims for the week ended March 25 totaled 198,000, higher than the 195,000 estimates.
